Estimating demographic parameters
Abundance and density remain among the most used and important population parameters for wildlife research and management. Nonetheless, rigorous analyses of mark-recapture, known-fate, occupancy, or other data types are challenging, particularly as the options for collecting and analyzing such data continue to rapidly evolve.

In recent years there have been incredible advances in animal tracking technologies and the modeling tools to interpret the data derived from them. Genetic and demographic connectivity
Understanding how populations are structured and connected to other populations, whether in terms of genetics or demographic processes, can provide extremely valuable insights into the nature of, and potential threats to, wildlife populations. As with many research techniques, the genetic and demographic structure and dynamics of a population can suggest that different things are happening.
