mission

To promote wildlife conservation and education through research and specialized training.

Who are we?

Our multidisciplinary team of scientists and educators use the best scientific tools available to answer important questions and solve complex problems in a changing world.

Why train with CWS?

We know you need this training now! Whether you need to complete an analysis for your thesis, develop a conservation action plan, or get trained in field techniques before the summer, we provide you the most practical training available.

Our instructors are experienced wildlife professionals. Recruited from academic institutions, government agencies, and the private sector, our instructors deliver traditional lectures, hands-on exercises, and project-specific consultation - even after you leave!

Our courses offer you an excellent opportunity to network. All our courses provide social opportunities for you to get know each other personally and professionally during meals, evening social events, and outdoor excursions.

A setting that stimulates creativity and promotes productivity. We currently offer our courses at Unity College Sky Lodge and the Darling Marine Center in Maine. Both world-class venues offer affordable lodging options, a variety of activities, and a quintessential mountain or coastal location.

Your money will be spent wisely. Your registration fees are used to pay our host venues, compensate our instructors and staff, and support our research and student projects. In addition, each year, we raise funds to deliver a series of short courses in places they are needed the most.
