Academic Credit as a Guest Learner

Do you need a transcript of your CWS learning?

Most CWS courses can be taken for credit at the graduate level or advanced undergraduate level via our partnership with Colby-Sawyer College. You will be considered a “guest learner” at the college, which can issue official transcripts for most CWS courses.

How it works — Paying individually

  1. Register for a PREMIUM course with CWS. At registration, select the option for “Take the course for academic credit through Colby-Sawyer College”.

  2. Once you’ve passed your course, you’ll be notified when your transcript is available and be provided a link to the transcript ordering system.

  3. Place an order for your official transcript. There is a $5 fee that covers transcript processing. You will receive a digital and a printed copy of your transcript.

How it works — Americorps or GI Bill funds

Through our partnership with Colby-Sawyer College, you can now use Americorps or GI Bill awards to cover the costs of CWS courses. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Email info@centerforwildlifestudies.org with your contact details and the name of the course(s) that you want to take.

  2. You will receive an invoice from Colby-Sawyer College that you can pay using your award.

  3. Completing your course and ordering a transcript will follow the same process as described above for those paying individually.

Are you currently enrolled at another institution?

Check with your advisor or registrar about the procedures for obtaining credit for courses taken outside your institution. The guest learner arrangement is just one method. For another option, visit our Other Academic Credit webpage.
